commandN Turns 100

CTV removes Citytv sign from building this morn

Just snapped this on my Blackberry on my way into work. 

For non-Torontonians, CTV recently acquired the Citytv building and some specialty channels.  (Yes, I work at Citytv...which Rogers just acquired...it is confusing, but the gist of it is that the Citytv building is an icon in Toronto and this sign's removal marks the end of an era.  The next time the sign goes up, it will be on a Rogers building).

I took a mini-vacation last week to PEI where I did a web cam interview with Leo Laporte re: the iPhone for Webnation.  This past episode, we also had the good fortune to steal 10 minutes of Garry Kasparov's time while the former chess champ was in  Toronto.  Webnation #8 is now online here and on iTunes.

Ottawa tech company takes apart the iPhone

My Ottawa high school friend Jenny N. just sent me a link to a video done in the lab where she works of her colleagues taking apart the iPhone (after waiting in a Boston line-up for 12 hours to buy Apple's latest gadget, I'm sure this wasn't easy to rip it apart).   By the end of the video, the iPhone doesn't look so purdy!
