How candidates use the web, how the web uses them - Obama tops MySpace friends
This site, techPresident, is amazing.
Here's what it's all about:
The 2008 election will be the first where the Internet will play a central role, not only in terms of how the campaigns use technology, but also in how voter-generated content affects its course. TechPresident.com plans to track all these changes in real-time, covering everything from campaign websites, online advertising and email lists to the postings on YouTube and who's got the fastest growing group of friends on Facebook.
Funny Obama hasn't MySpace'd or Facebook'd me yet? ;-)

Hi Amber
I may not be a candidate of for the President of America but I sent you a message in FaceBook... Great site though, maybe this should be the new way to vote in the next President???
How many of the accounts that have listed the candidates as friend do you think are fake, and have just been set up by their supports to increase the numbers??? Has anybody checked yet??
As someone commented on in your MySpace: Whats with the link to Hot Prison Pals??
I know they still have a right to be happy and in love, but whats the story behind that link? or do we have to wait until commandN 80 comes out?
Have fun in the minus 'way to much' weather, hope you found somewhere inside to film tonight...
Lots of Love & Luck

Brain, don't tell Amber, but remember to wear your bulletproof vest tonight, or at least remember to duck when you hear the big bang coming from Amber's direction... it won't be a new universe starting
Have a great time

Haha, maybe Obama would add you if you were eligible to vote for him! - Unless, you are some secret undercover American agent in Canada? =P
Btw, hope you enjoyed our ONLY 15cm snowfall in Toronto. Too bad we didn't get 70cm like Hamilton!

What name do you go by in facebook? I searched for "Amber Macarthur", but the one result it gave didn't look like you in the little picture.

I think its a little early to assume that all the social networking and blogging onlne is going to be a major factor in the upcoming election. Im not sure how someone that invests a lot of time in networking online is going to translate into any more votes than a middle aged parent that spends little if any time in the blogosphere. Hillary C. has a huge lead in cash in the bank, and Obama has more contacts in Myspace. Who is the clear favorite?

The big problem is still the fact that those who are most likely to use sites like Facebook or Myspace are the least likely to vote, whether in the US or in Canada...

Oh dear. I hate this.. it's so obviously fake. These candidates are not your friends! It's like people who add famous musicians to their friends list. This is why bands have spammed the hell out of myspace.
It's all so superficial, but I guess it works with the kids.
