Hammering in my head won't stop...I blame the Gladstone.
UPDATE: For tonight's net@nite guests, we have Nick Douglas (formerly of gossip site Valleywag) and a surprise visit from my favourite magician...
My head is still ringing from late-night karaoke at the Gladstone Hotel. I didn't realize that many of my friends really can't hold a tune (which, of course, made it all much more entertaining...so to last night's singers, never change).
Tonight Leo and I are not singing, but we are going live online from 9-10pm EST on net@nite (which should be a chill hour on a Sunday evening...unless Leo unmutes everyone!). You are all invited to listen in/call in, geek out in the chatroom, or say hi on MySpace. It's netcasting and multi-tasking at its best.
Truthfully, what I'm most excited about for tonight's show (thx to Leo) is my new mic...the Snowball ("the world's first professional USB mic"). Yes, it's pictured here...along with a print that I just bought (must hammer the headphones lady up today). If my roommate Jenna walks into my room again when I'm taking a pic like this for my blog/podcast, she is definitely going to show me the door ;-).
If you're looking to procrastinate for a few minutes today, check out some stories I did at CityTV (CNI) last week...Vloggies, Lego, Borat, Video Games, and KFC. TTYL.

Nice picture there! Did you just buy it or was it created for you?
Take care!

Gotta love karaoke at the Gladstone! Half of the fun is hearing the old guy at the beginning start it up every night with the, "Heyyyyy, good looking!" song.

That's a nice print and your photo is a good idea that could be used to advertise such microphones :)
I have never done any karaoke. The correct combination of the right company, karaoke equipment and alcohol/bravado seems to elude me ;)
Did you sing?

I didn't sing...I wanted to, but there was a long line and the audience wasn't drunk enough ;).
P.S. Bought the pic...

...and I would think that the Gladstone would also have to have a policy where everyone had to 'check' their video/audio recording devices at the door? ;)

Yes, the snowball rocks. My cohost and I both use them for our weekly webcast 21st century learning at edtechtalk.com.
Here is my blue mic: http://flickr.com/photos/arvindgrover/279084249/

That mic looks huge! :)
BTW your audio on NATN EP2 is far superior than the previous episode.
Where did you buy that print, and do they have an online shop?

That's a weird looking mic... how much was it?
Posted by:Will | November 20, 2006 at 08:17 AM
I think the mics are about $150.

"...and the audience wasn't drunk enough ;)."
Is that even possible at the Gladstone? :) Every time I've been there, it seemed like the whole place was hammered.

Is Blue billing it as the 1st professional USB mic?
I know Samson has had a decent USB mic for awhile.

Amber..
Where did you purchase the mic..any links you can throw our way. $150 > CDN or US Funds?
Do you have any samples of the audio quality pre Snowball and post Snowball you can feed to us.
I'm looking to find the best mic for video conferenceing, but its a tough find, any recommendations ?
Much appreciated.

Amazon has the Snowball as does B&H. Amazon for less than $150 US.

Leo bought the mic for me, but I'll find out where he picked it up!

Hi Amber, I spoke with you and Leo on net@nite last Sunday (Randysouth). It was great, but before I could ask my question Leo muted me! Ah well, I'll try again next week. (BTW, I wish someone would make me a web LOL).
